Which Treatment is Best for Under-Eye Hollowness?

As we age, depressions underneath the eyes are common. This can produce a somewhat ghastly appearance when accompanied by dark, puffy, and wrinkled skin. Fortunately, hollowness underneath the eyes is very simple to address with dermal fillers.

At Beauty by Brueck, we offer dermal fillers from the JUVÉDERM® and Restylane® families. The active ingredient in these fillers is hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance required for moisture retention in the skin. As we age, the amount of HA in our skin diminishes, allowing the skin to become lax and wrinkled. Restoration of HA through targeted application of these fillers addresses under-eye hollowness to restore a smooth, natural-looking, and more attractive look to the skin.

Dermal fillers can also be used to add volume to the cheeks and the temples, and to smooth deep wrinkles and fine lines throughout the face.

Dermal fillers are generally considered safe and are very well tolerated by most patients. The best way to learn if you are a good candidate for a dermal filler is through a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Brueck at one of our convenient Southwest Florida offices.

Crow’s Feet and Frown Lines

In addition to under-eye hollowness, crow’s feet (the wrinkles that extend horizontally from the corners of the eyes) and frown lines (the vertical creases between the eyebrows) are common with age. These wrinkles may respond well to a dynamic wrinkle relaxer such as Xeomin® or BOTOX® Cosmetic. These treatments allow muscles and skin to relax and help to smooth fine lines and deep wrinkles.

Neuromodulators such as Xeomin and BOTOX Cosmetic can be used to lift sagging eyebrows, smooth forehead creases, and eliminate nasolabial folds. They can also be used to address pebbly chin, neck bands, and jaw skin laxity for a fully rejuvenated appearance.
