With this procedure, Dr. Robert Brueck can eliminate wrinkles from the upper and lower lids, lift sagging eyelids, remove dark and puffy skin from the tear trough, and create a better rested, more alert, and more appealing look to the midface.

Blepharoplasty is one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures in the United States, and it’s easy to see why. A simple and effective procedure, blepharoplasty produces natural-looking results that can last several years. Unfortunately, however, wrinkles, skin laxity, and other signs of aging can reappear as time passes. Some of this will have to do with your lifestyle choices, and some with genetics, environment, and the unavoidable force of gravity.

How Long Do Eyelid Lift Results Last?

Generally speaking, lower blepharoplasty (to address dark circles and lower eyelid wrinkles) tends to be permanent. Upper blepharoplasty (to lift sagging lids and remove upper lid wrinkles) typically produces results for five to ten years. The amount of time the results from your eyelid surgery last depends on factors unique to your procedure, anatomy, lifestyle, and family history.

Dr. Brueck is a board-certified plastic surgeon with decades of experience. During your initial consultation, he will carefully evaluate the area around your eyes, discuss the benefits and limitations of blepharoplasty, and help you determine if it’s the best solution for your needs.

Does Eyelid Surgery Remove Crow’s Feet?

Crow’s feet are the wrinkles that extend horizontally toward the temple from the corner of the eye. Blepharoplasty does not remove crow’s feet.

Crow’s feet respond well to wrinkle relaxers like BOTOX® Cosmetic and Xeomin®. These work to relax underlying musculature, enabling crow’s feet to smooth. Wrinkle relaxers can be used in combination with blepharoplasty. However, whereas eyelid surgery can produce results for ten years or longer, wrinkle relaxers only last four to six months. Touch-up treatments are needed to maintain a smooth and youthful appearance.
