Your Own Fat or Hyaluronic Acid?
For facial fat grafting, fat must be taken from another area of the body. Therefore, good candidates for this procedure must have an area of the body with excess fat accumulations to obtain the donor material. Fat grafting may not be an option for patients who do not have sufficient fat elsewhere in the body.

HA is naturally produced by the body and essential to full, soft, and youthful-looking skin. Once injected, these fillers stimulate collagen and elastin production, helping to create pleasing results for several months irrespective of how much fat is present elsewhere in the body.
Results from facial fat grafting are immediate, but may take several months to finalize. However, once results have been fully realized, they can last for years. Dermal fillers might also produce immediate results, with maximum improvement around two to three weeks. However, results from dermal fillers will only last for six to eighteen months, depending on where they were injected. They will necessitate touch-up treatments at regularly spaced intervals to ensure continuous results.
