How Long is Recovery from Blepharoplasty?

Transcript: Hi, I’m Dr. Robert Brueck. You know, in the course of 40 years in practice, I get asked a lot of questions. One of the questions I frequently get asked, because I do a lot of them, is, ‘What is the recovery time for a blepharoplasty?’

A blepharoplasty is one operation that I think can dramatically change a person’s appearance – take five to ten years off your life. And in many cases, it’s one of the few procedures covered by insurance.

And the recovery is simple, straightforward: 1) keep your head up, 2) put ice on your eyes as much as you can, 3) you can shampoo your hair the very next day, get everything wet, but I warn patients: get a baby shampoo so if you get soap in your eyes you don’t tear out the sutures I put in the day before.

So, the recovery is very, very quick, very safe. Stitches are out in five to six days, there’s no pain, and it can make a dramatic difference in your appearance.

If you have any questions at all about blepharoplasty, please call my office (239) 939-5233, or go to our website, BeautyByBrueck.com. You may even want to send me an email with a specific question and we’d be more than happy to answer it for you.
