How Long Does a Lower Facelift Last?

Posted: July 8, 2020

Transcript: Hi, this is Dr. Robert Brueck and one of the questions that I get asked quite a bit, because I do a lot of facelifts, is, ‘How long will a facelift last?’

I guess sometimes people go online, they go on the internet and they read over the last two years, four years, five years, a couple simple, basic principles. Number 1: the longevity of a facelift or any cosmetic procedure depends on the quality of the skin at the time you do it. So, in other words, if somebody’s 40, has good skincare, good skin tone, good quality, not a lot of sun, they can get five, 10, 12, 15 years.

On the other hand, if somebody comes in and they’re 65 and they look like a weather-beaten prune with dry skin, sun damage, it might last two, three, four, five years.

The point being, you will always, always look better.

So, my advice to you, take care of your skin. If not, you’re going to come in and you get to pay later to get it corrected. So, good skincare and avoiding excessive sun is important.
